CENTRAL LIBRARY:

PREFACE:

Library is considered as an important part of the college which is the major learning resource for the student and staff. As per the changing time, role of library is also being changed. Advanced technology has been utilized by the library to provide library services. The main aim of library is to avail the various reading material   and   learning   resources   to   the students and work for the amusement and imbibe values in the readers by reading various autobiographies of great leaders. Students get inspirations and life-force for their future life by reading.

The college has well equipped up-to-date Library   with   varieties   of   books. More than 28643 Textbooks and Reference books are available in Library. 08 daily newspapers of state and National level both in Marathi and English and 38 Periodicals on various disciplines are subscribed.

Book bank facility is an important part of the college. Due to the rising cost of the books students are Unable to purchase such books therefore book bank facility is provided to meet the reading thrust of the students. Textbooks are provided to the students after admission in the college.

The library has made special study room facility for both students. They are taking benefit of this facility. Various magazines and periodicals have been kept for the reading purpose of the students. The college has undertaken computerization of library with the help MKCLs LIBRERIA software.

• To provide a variety of learning resources, services & facilities to support a diverse
• To encourage academic achievement, success & lifelong learning to enhance teaching

OBJECTIVES:

• To Select, acquire, preserve and disseminate relevant and latest information to users
• To supply the latest information to all specialties in their respective field
• To Provide right information, right time to the right user
• To help user to access information by using ICT technologies

Principal is the Chairman of Library Advisory Committee & librarian acts as a Secretary. The committee members meet twice in the year. Functions of Library Advisory Committees are:

• Proposal of new additions to the
• Rules & regulations for the book – bank & daily issuing are
• Funds from UGC grants, college budget & Library

MAJOR INITIATIVE TAKEN BY LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE:

1. The library advisory committee suggested providing e-library facility to the students and
2. A book bank facility made available for economically poor, socially backward and physically disabled
3. Provide Open-Access to students and
4. Automation of Library house-keeping operations.

LIBRARY COLLECTION:

Radhabai Kale Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Aahilyanagar Library has well equipped up-to-date Library with varieties of books in Science and Technology. More than 59,269 Textbooks and Reference books are available in Library. Various periodicals of National and International repute have been available for the sake of all round development of students. 06 daily newspapers of state and National level both in Marathi and English and 46 Magazines on various disciplines are subscribed.
